Mrs Karen Marston MITI
I have been a freelance translator and interpreter since 1998. In translation I specialise in legal, international organisations, advertising and marketing, tourism and journalistic texts and particularly enjoy producing translations that require creative flair and writing skills, maintaining style and impact as well as meaning. As a keen reader of fiction I am very interested in entering the world of literary translation and feel I have the right skills for this field. I am a public service interpreter working for the courts, police, health service and other organisations, and have also done interpreting in the private sector. I have extensive experience working with individuals who are buying/own property in France/Spain, helping with translation and communication by phone/letter/e-mail. In addition, I am a qualified volunteer counsellor, which means I have an understanding of psychology and therapy.
