Dr Mark Sutcliffe MITI
30 years' experience in publishing, project-managing, editing and translating for publishers, museums and other cultural institutions, both in the former Soviet Union and the UK. For 20 years I have been one half of a publishing partnership, Fontanka, producing books, catalogues and translations for a wide range of clients, including the Hermitage Museum in St Petersburg and the Courtauld Gallery and Pushkin House in London; before that I was Russian Projects Director at Booth-Clibborn Editions, London, working with museums in Moscow and St Petersburg, during which time I lived on and off in Russia for several years. As a translator, editor, copywriter and proofreader, I work closely with authors, editors and designers on producing fluent and accurate text. With an MA in Russian Studies and PhD in early 20th-century Russian History, both from SSEES UCL, I specialise primarily in the humanities.
