I have 25 years' experience as a French and Italian to English translator, translating for museums, art galleries, tourist agencies, publishers, academic institutions and fashion houses. I acquired my love of languages and fluency in French working for the UK Mission to the UN in Geneva; gained first and second degrees in French at Reading and Oxford; and taught French language and literature at university level and French and Italian in adult education for many years. Books I have translated include cookery and popular science, history and art; and academic articles have covered history, ethnology, human and social sciences and discourse analysis. I have translated many audioguides for museum exhibitions, including the Louvre and Orangerie, as well as contributing to the translation of the Louvre website and translating exhibition catalogues. I also offer some translation from Italian, chiefly in the realms of fashion and tourism. My aim is always to deliver a quality product, with an emphasis on reliability and creativity.
