Learn the fundamentals of cybersecurity and how to protect your freelance business.
We hear the term “cybersecurity” a lot these days, even more so over the last few years as more businesses embrace online tools and practices in the digital world. This is largely a positive step forward, but with this change comes opportunity – both for small businesses and for cybercriminals.
In this webinar, IT translator Keith Baddeley will dive into what cybersecurity really means and how you should be using it to protect your freelance business.
You will learn:
Keith Baddeley is a Spanish- and French-to-English translator based in Malaga, Spain. Before switching careers to translation in 2016, he spent 25 years in the IT industry working in the IT departments of multinational companies, for IT consultancy firms and as a freelance IT consultant. During that time, he was responsible for IT infrastructure (on-premises and cloud servers and storage), data centres, IT operations and IT security (or cybersecurity). In the late 2000s, he returned to languages, a long-held passion since childhood, studying part-time for a BA in Modern Language Studies at The Open University, graduating in 2014. He graduated with an MA in Technical and Specialised Translation from the University of Westminster in 2015 before moving to Spain to launch his freelance translation business in 2016. He now helps IT companies in the Spanish- and French-speaking worlds introduce their products and services to English-speaking audiences and communicate the benefits to their customers through his translations.
