ITI launches new individual membership category
The new Language Services membership category is open to individuals who work in a variety of roles within Language Service Providers but who are not themselves translators or interpreters.
Through this new initiative ITI will, for the first time, be able to offer membership to professionals who work in the language services sector on a day-to-day basis such as project managers, vendor managers, operations managers, technology experts and account managers.
ITI membership provides the opportunity to network with other professionals across the industry and to increase co-operation between all those involved in the provision of language services, as well as to share best practice.
Commenting on the launch ITI Chief Executive, Paul Wilson, said “At ITI we aspire to raise standards across the translating and interpreting profession and having a membership that includes those working in the wide variety of roles that exist within Language Service Providers gives us an even better opportunity to do this.”
New members in the Language Services membership category will have their professionalism recognised and will be able to both draw on and contribute to ITI’s wide range of resources and development opportunities. Membership will also provide the opportunity to network with others working in similar roles, to discuss the key issues in the industry, and share best practice.
"In the future, we are also looking forward to increasing collaboration and fostering relationships between those providing translation and interpreting services and those procuring them on behalf of their clients" Paul Wilson continued. "The chance to share knowledge and discuss common challenges can only be a good thing for all those working in the language services industry and once the new Language Services membership category is established, we will be arranging further opportunities to do this."
