Patent translation is an excellent niche to specialise in, especially if you already have some experience with technical translation more generally.
This workshop will provide a strong foundation of the knowledge and skills you will require if you are a translator looking to start or further your patent translation career, or if you are a reviewer or project manager who regularly encounters patents.
During the three hour workshop you will:
- Gain an introduction to a wide range of documents involved in the entire patenting process, and get to see specifically some of the most common documents.
- Be shown how to write patents in English and discuss how to translate the standard components of patents
- Learn about the patent translation industry in general
- Receive a brief introduction to some of the software, translation strategies, workflows, and reviewing methods that you will need to work in patent translation.
The workshop will work into English throughout.
