Are you thinking of diversifying or specialising in something new? Have you ever considered branching out into audiovisual translation?
The Italian Network's upcoming webinar could be just the ticket! “Getting started with subtitling” will be presented online by Chloe Stout, a freelance subtitler and translator working from French and Italian into English. Chloe specialises in subtitling for the film and TV industry and offers both translation and accessibility services. She also teaches the English Specialised Translation module at the University of Leeds on their translation master’s courses.
Chloe’s presentation will give you an overview on working as a subtitler. She’ll cover the different kinds of subtitling, what skills you need (and may already have), the age-old question of knowing how and what to charge, and how to find clients. Chloe will also talk about subtitling software options and how to choose the best one for you.
So, if you’re curious about subtitling and thinking about adding this string to your bow (or just want to know more), this webinar is the perfect introduction.
Tempted? Tickets are free for Italian Network members and £5 for non-members.
