The election looks set for the Autumn and, currently, the polls suggest there will be a change of government. But what can the next government do to harness the potential of the freelance sector, and will they be inclined to do it?
IPSE’s Policy Director, Andy Chamberlain, hosts a panel of experts to discuss what the next government could, should and might actually do to boost freelancing.

Freelance FAQs – Your common questions answered
Frankie Tortora and Steve Folland — freelancers, friends and co-hosts of the Doing It For The Kids podcast for self-employed parents — take time out from herding their kids to answer your questions. In this informal Q&A they’ll be chatting through your most common freelance queries on finding work and marketing yourself, pricing and getting paid, that all elusive work-life ‘balance’ and more. Expect a bucketload of practical advice, actionable tips and one too many ‘dad/mum jokes’.

Keynote speaker – Marverine Cole
Join Marverine Cole, winner of the IPSE Inaugural Lifetime Achievement Award 2023, as she discusses the leap of faith she took in pivoting to a career in journalism in her 30s, and the challenges she has faced throughout her 15 years of being a freelance broadcaster.
Marverine will also speak about the potential benefits of becoming more visible & outspoken in the changing media landscape, and she’ll detail her experience of using podcasting as a tool for powerful self-driven communications.
